PACKiT Lunch Cooler Review & {Giveaway}

We were recently given the opportunity to test out a product that James is in LOVE with. When I mean 'in love with it' I mean he carries it around the house and needs to take it everywhere!

Introducing PACKiT!

the freezable personal cooler that keeps your food colder, fresher, and safer for longer than you could ever before – up to 10 hours! There's no need for ice that melts or for bulky, toxic ice packs. Simply store your folded PackIt in the freezer until you're ready to PackIt and go!

About PACKiT:

One morning in Westlake Village, CA, Melissa Kieling was packing her kids’ lunches, as she did everyday.  The mother of 3 found herself filling sandwich bags full of ice cubes in an attempt to keep the apples from turning brown and the turkey sandwiches from spoiling. She thought there must be a better way to preserve perishable food without icepacks or toxic inserts. Unfortunately there wasn't and it was then that PackIt was born. The freezable, foldable lunch bag with an integrated earth-friendly gel liner that freezes and keeps food cool for up to 10 hours!
Three short years later, PackIt has grown into a defining brand built around the patented technology of freezable bags and continues to roll out innovative products including lunch bags, snack bags, grocery bags, wine bags and much more.
PackIt is available in a range of fashionable prints and solid colors across multiple product categories, sold in major retailers including Target, Babies R Us, Bed Bath & Beyond, Container Store, Whole Foods and also in independent specialty boutiques worldwide.

We received a Personal Cooler in the Owls print. James was instantly interested I it. "Mum - what is it? Is it for me?" I explained it was for his lunches. "Oh when I go to stool!"

After James inspected his new cooler - I popped it into the freezer. The main reason I was excited about reviewing this product is because there is NO need for ice packs in the bag. The bag itself is like a LARGE icepack. The whole bag freezes thus no need for them, and no lost ice packs.

Now, I have used this for myself as well. Chris and I went out for a dinner one night and the boys went to Nana & Papa's. I had some frozen breast milk for Graham which I put into the PACKiT. Mom forgot to put the milk into the freezer, but I wasn't worried as the PACKiT kept it cold, and even after 4 hours of it being in the bag, the milk wasn't completely thawed. I was so impressed with that.

In fact - PACKiT claims that their coolers can keep it's content cold for up to 10 hours. I decided to test that - I put a couple different items in the bag and left it out all day. After the ten hours - the water bottle was still cold, as well as all the other content.

The amount of 'stuff' you can fit into the PACKiT is also great. In the picture below - there is an Applesauce cup, as well as a yogurt cup. A Lunchskins sandwich bag with half a Sammy, a juice box and an 18oz Klean Kanteen. There is a bunch of room left for other items - such as a banana, apple etc.

Now, with any product for my child I like to know that its safe of certain products. Such as BPA, lead etc. PACKiT is safe not only for my son but for the environment as well. PACKiT is PVC-free, lead-free, BPA-free and is non toxic. The best part is, it's reusable! I pair this with James' Stainless Steel lunch box. Every thing stays nice and chilled and I don't worry about food spoiling because it got warm.

After a month of use - I will say I am going to have to find a way to get a couple more. PACKiT doesn't ship to Canada just yet (Bummer I know). But I can see these being super handy when we go to the trailer in the summer.

I am so impressed with the PACKiT. Such an innovated idea! James said he gives it his two thumbs up!

PACKiT doesn't just have personal coolers, they have mini ones, wine bags, and even a shopper bag. The bags run anywhere from $14.99 to $27.99. They come in a wide variety if color/prints - so there is something for everyone!
