An Accomplishment

Today I did something that I have been meaning to do for quite some time. Now, to some this seems like a no brainer - it gives you freedom and the means to go where you please. I am talking about getting your drivers licence!

Yes, that's correct. I do NOT drive. I have been scared out of my mind to get behind the wheel. I had my Learner's before James was born but I let it expire.

Today, however - I went in and passed the test for my L. HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT for me. I cannot wait to get started. I will be taking lessons and I hope to have my N by the end of the year!

I will be posting more as I go.

Whee!!

    1. Hehe! One of the reasons I needed to get it was I am going stir crazy in the house. I can go and get my New Driver's anytime now - going to get some lessons and freshen up and hopefully by say October I can go out with the boys without having a supervisor!

  3. I had my L for eight years. I just passed the road test, on my first try and finally have my N. It totally transforms my life, and is so good for my mental health to be able to go out and do things with the boys.

I took 6 two hour lessons with a really good instructor. Then I did a two hour warm-up and mock road test with him, and the actual road test seemed easy in comparison. It is totally, totally worth it to take good lessons, from a good instructor. I tried out a couple of the cheaper instructors, and honestly, it was a waste of money. The more expensive instructor was worth it - he had a lesson plan, and worked through all the things you need to know methodically. It was totally worth every single penny. October is ages away. You can do it way before that. End of June! Think of all the fun summer adventures you could be going on with the kids! Do you live in Vancouver? You recently posted about bad Vancouver weather, and I was surprised, because for some reason I thought you lived far away (probably because I imagine all blogs I read to be far away for some reason!) Anyways, if you do, I can give you my driving instructor's name and phone number. He was great.
